They are guaranteeing that any job you might be interested in is NOT promised to you but they want to make it look to you like "this is your big chance" but it is THEIR chance to find someone else and it is possible that someone else has quietly contacted them and they want to hire THAT person instead of you and maybe they are telling that person to keep their eyes open so they can apply for a job and thus--the word for it--"snooker" you. If they don't tell you where the advertisement will appear and if they don't show you the job description BEFORE the advert will appear, you should be prepared for them to say "Well, we found a better candidate." If the position is described in a way that shows what they want is NOT in your background, then the new candidate will get the job.
