Most of the Hindus who come to the USA are in the upper caste. I refer to them as Brahmins, though they might not be "true" Brahmins. Even if they're not Brahmins, it's obvious they're already filthy rich and do NOT need the money. Rich people who work are stealing jobs from people who need the money.
At the most recent place where I worked, there were the following people from India:
- Apparent upper caste Hindu from southeast India. Funny guy, slacker, vicious streak. Thought by many to be a good programmer, but not that great, the type who writes 1000 lines of code when the solution could have only 100 lines. Way overpaid.
- Upper caste Hindu Brahmin from East Bengal. Brown-noser, arrogant SOB, bigot, somewhat of a temper. Dishonest. Slacker. Lucky stiff. Pervert. Mediocre programmer. Way overpaid.
- Muslim, therefore ranking below the Dalits, as the caste system in India puts non-Hindu Gentiles even below the "untouchable" Hindus. He was the best non-American programmer and had by far the best personality. Would guess he was middle clbutt, probably in the top 5% economically of all Muslims in India. Clashed with the southeast guy and seemed to get along OK with the East Bengal guy.
- Female Hindu, married to a male Hindu who worked about 1000 miles away, not sure about caste but probably upper. She had a dot on her forehead but I cannot read dots and tell which caste. Incompetent at programming. Feministic.
- Middle clbutt Hindu from South India, as a whole a nice guy and he tried, but programming skills mediocre. Plenty of Americans are better at programming than he. Occasional temper. Overpaid.
- Upper caste Hindu Brahmin from Uttar Pradesh. Total jerk. Brown-noses management while backstabbing peers. Control freak. Bigot. Slacker. Pale skin. Easily upset. loveually harrbuttes coworkers. Creates a hostile workplace. Incompetent. History of costly failures in IT. Dishonest green card application approved. Worst of the bunch. Way overpaid. He was extremely rude to the above middle clbutt Hindu, even ruder than he was to me. He and the middle clbutt Hindu disliked the guy from southeast India, though that might be jealousy because the southeast guy wasn't married yet.
Note this was not an "elite" company, so the percentage of upper caste Brahmins was probably lower than at more famous companies. Some of the Brahmins did work at other companies such as Intel and IBM. At the most prestigous companies, almost all Hindustani are Brahmins.
