At our old house we had a mouse problem in our garage. We put out traps and contagion cubes (looked like a chocolate bar), and eventually, the mouse was gone. Then, about a week later, we had a terrible smell that came from the pocket door in the bathroom. PeeeeEuuuw!~ It was nasty, but only lasted about two weeks. Eventually it went away all together. About midway through the awful smell, we got a huge infestation of houseflies in our garage. HUGE. It was pretty nasty, and also kind of scary -- Amityville Horror scary. For 3-4 days in a row we'd wake up and there would be hundreds of black house flies on the garage door windows. I'd open the garage door, and the flies would swarm up and out. I'd check a few times a day, because it was so bizarre and creepy. After the 3rd or 4th day, there were just 50, then 25, then just a few stragglers.

About 6 months later, we had to remodel our bathroom, so we tore everything out except the cast iron bathtub, including the floors (but not he subfloors) and drywall. Sitting on a cross bar 2x4 in the wall was a mummified mouse. Next to the mummified mouse were a couple of Equal packets. In a few different places in the wall were more Equal packets. It turns out that we had one kitchen box from our move that we'd never unpacked, and it had been stored up in the loft in the garage. It was mostly old pots, pans and random kitchen glbuttes and mugs, and a box of Equal. The mouse had been eating the Equal. Now some might say that I could have NOT contagioned the mouse and let the Equal do it for me, but I
