IMO I would find a new nanny. As a nanny myself it would irk me if my employer were not happy about something I did with their child(ren) and didn't tell me.
Plus, it's not pleasant for the nanny to be living under such stress.
how to deal with nanny at home 22Leslie Are these big issues? (1) She does not squeeze the sponge dry when she's done washing, so it's a disgusting, wet, soppy mess. (2...
I always remember the well publicized case of the British Au-Pair a few years ago (Louise Woodward, her name was). I don't know if you remember it but basically the baby died while in the au-pair's care. The au-pair was ultimately convicted of the crime, but not before the parents basically said they were not happy with the things she was doing before any of this happened...one of them was letting the child eat Cheerios which I would cheerfully do, unless a parent told me otherwise. Other things were items such as too much TV and talking on the phone IIRC. This was all news to the au-pair as she was under the impression that the parents were happy with her job performance. All this combined led the jury and judge to feel that she was unfit as an au-pair and therefore if she was doing all these other things "wrong" she must be guilty.
I tell you this because they may seem like small things on the surface but you owe it to yourself, the nanny and your child to mention it and get them fixed, or find a new nanny. It's always better to feel comfortable with who you are leaving your child with isn't it? There was outrage at this case because nobody could understand why the parents didn't try to remedy these problems before they got so out of hand that it ended in the rest of their child.
Of course I am not saying by any means that your nanny would intentionally harm your kids, but I wanted to point out in the extreme what could happen...
Just my 0.02.
