Re the developmental milestones, I totally agree with what you said; it's what I've been saying all along. HOWEVER, at a certain point, you do need to worry if the child is too far behind. Not walking at 22 months is definitely something to worry about, even if he is progressing. Because he is also behind in all the other major categories (fine motor, language, cognitive, etc.), and after age three, the diagnosis turns from "developmental delay" to "mental retardation", and if you could have picked it up early enough to start therapy, you could alleviate a lot of the problems.

But, as others have pointed out, that is MY job, not hers. And we did do everything we could and Pillbug is getting the therapy he needs and we help him practice and all that. So, this is also a non-issue, with respect to the nanny.
