how often do you have prenatal appointments

That's how I recall my last, 10 yrs ago. But this time round it's been once a month, and looks like it will continue so until the end - I saw the midwife last Thursday, at 32+1 weeks, I'm due to see the consultant at 36+2 weeks to get date for c-s, and midwife has said that in that case I should only come back and see her the Thursday at 38+1 weeks. Considering I'm asking the consultant if I can have baby on 38+5 on the Monday, I wonder if it's worth bothering with the midwife the previous Thursday at all?!

Might be a local thing - our local maternity is closed to all but midwife led births now (so births are down some 75% in the unit), so I have to travel to another hospital some distance away, for the consultant and my caesarian. I think it's a matter of time before even that choice is removed and they close the local hospital altogether :-(

At 40 y.o, and on my 3rd section-4th major lower abdominal surgery, I am a bit concerned. I hope my fears are unfounded... (so far, aside from a few more aches and pains this time around, everything appears fine, but it doesn't stop me worrying all the same).
