I buttume you've never given birth before. If so, you should know that the *median* date for giving birth for women who are having their first babies is 41w1d (8 days past EDD). This means that at 11 days past your EDD, you're really only 3 days past the point at which *half* of all women like you have had your baby. I think that puts it into perspective--it's really crazy under those conditions to be expecting that anything should have happened by now.
frustrated! 79Here's the study. (It's a little confusing because it talks in terms of days from conception-ovulation rather than the LMP date. But if...
I was induced with my first at 11 days past my due date. I had a relatively uncomplicated privatesl birth. I still wouldn't recommend induction at 11 days past your EDD. In your shoes, I would certainly hold out until the 42-week mark (unless there were signs of problems, of course, in which case, all bets are off) and might even insist on waiting a few days beyond that with good monitoring.
Above all else, don't let this situation frustrate you. You really aren't "overdue" yet in anyone's eyes but your own. Almost all pregnancies, not interfered with, end by 42 weeks, with a very few statistical outliers. Obviously, you might wind up being a statistical outlier, but there's nothing about your situation at this point that suggests you should be expecting that to be the case.
