R&T and am longer but if be lightly some
Hi Tina! Sounds like you're doing all the right stuff - some babies just take longer in there. That said, my neighbour just had her second baby exactly 11 days post dates (apparently, after the due date is "post dates" and after 42 weeks is "post term" and thus overdue, so I'm trying it out to avoid confusion!). She was induced with a cervical suppository (prostaglandin, I guess), and sent home. The induction worked in a few hours, the labour was very normal, not at all what one would experience with a pitocin augmentation, and she had a healthy 9 lb 9 oz boy. He had all the hallmark signs of being a little overcooked - the nails curling over the fingertips, the peeling skin, no vernix, little amniotic fluid, etc. My mom was induced with my younger brother at 14 days post dates and he was 8 lbs 13 and had the same overcooked signs, and MIL was induced at about 42 weeks with DH (also second born), who was 9 lbs 8, with no overdue markers. Both uncomplicated privatesl births.
frustrated! 78I buttume you've never given birth before. If so, you should know that the *median* date for giving birth for women who...
frustrated! 79Here's the study. (It's a little confusing because it talks in terms of days from conception-ovulation rather than the LMP date. But if you do the...
One thing about all three of these boys - they were big, healthy, strong babies who nursed like champs and slept well and generally had very mellow early newborn phases. So, don't stress too much; either baby will come soon w-o inducing, or you'll get induced and the odds are great that you'll have a nice, normal privatesl delivery of a strong, healthy baby, who might just have the edge on some non-induced 40-weekers I know (and gave birth to - skinny little 40-weeker covered in vernix and lanugo, who took a few weeks to figure out how to nurse)!
