Sorry to hear this... If it's any consolation, a lot of us have horrible first trimesters...

For coping with constant nausea and vomiting, it's all trial and error. The conventional wisdom says eat little bits at a time, things like crackers, small bits of protein, ginger (ale, tea, anything with ginger in it), etc.

For me personally, very spicy foods, salty foods like potato chips, Coke, bitter tea helped. I couldn't handle ginger ale after awhile and the tea did nothing. Also, I have not eaten crackers since my first pregnancy, I am so turned off by them now. (Most of those foods are things I normally never eat: spicy stuff, chips, tea... Go figure!)

I felt better by about 15 weeks. It feels like it will never end, and for some women, it does not. If your wife gets very dehydrated from vomiting, make sure she gets to the hospital for an IV. Try to keep drinking liquids of any sort to stay hydrated.

My philosophy is "do whatever works". So, keep trying to eat different things, or not eat, whatever will help... Hope she feels better soon.

R&T and am longer but if be lightly some Hi Tina! Sounds like you're doing all the right stuff - some babies just take longer in there. That said...
