Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward
Sure, but you know that's not going to happen ;-)
Well, *that* sort of response *would* make me very worried. It's one thing to not know where to find a fetoscope or how to use it or even that it can be used in an environment where it is really uncommon. To get defensive, belittle you, and attack midwives in response is way over the top and something that would raise a real red flag for me. When you're in labor, do you really want someone to come back at you with an attack insinuating that you're ignorant and gullible when you make another perfectly reasonable request? Just think of what they can bully and guilt you into with that sort of approach! Now, hopefully this particular nurse is an exception. If, however, you find that her atbreastude is common at this hospital or, worse yet, is shared by your midwife-OB, then I would seriously consider changing care providers. The only thing worse than encountering this sort of crap when it's a relatively small matter and you've got time to look it up and mull it over is encountering this sort of crap when you're vulnerable and in pain and there's no time to check it out (or worse yet, when there are complications and the decisions are really critical).
Sleep with diff caregiversMy baby(close to one year) is used to being rocked to sleep and daily my mother used to do this. I work and after...
