First shots 35Sarah, Some babies have reactions and some don't. I don't believe in medicating "just in case". Here is what I'd do -- I'd not...
Why delay shots? Are they not given at certian ages for a reason? I dont know what your children are immunised against in America and Canada but I know that one of the immunisations here that is give early is Hib I have a good friend who's son got this when he was 6months old (before it was available for immunisation). He almost died from it and he needed a special brace on his hips-legs for 6months, I think I would rather take them and listen to them scream for a few minutes than run the risk of my child geting a serious disease like Hib. Hep B shots are given at birth ,2months and 4 months here. This is another disease that can easily be picked up and once they have it they have it for life, I worked with people who had Hep B before I had children and it is soooo easily spread, it only takes someone who has the virus to kiss a sloppy kiss on your new baby and it could be pbutted on. Hep B is a life sentence that I wouldnt wish any child to get. By the time the child is 2 they could have been exposed to these serious viruses and you may not even know it(particularly if your child is in any form of daycare) In fact here you can not send your child to daycare or a childcare centre unless they are immunised, if they aren't you have to fill in a heap of paperwork saying why you are choosing not to immunise to get an exemption so they can go, but then even if there is one case of measles for example the child has to be excluded from the centre until no further cases have been reported.
