Oh, it works alright... NO contractions. Took a teaspoon. 2 hours later, three good contractions.
Next morning. No contractions. After nookie and castor oil, went to 5 cm. Contractions stopped. Took a teaspoon, and another teaspoon, and then two more teaspoons, and within minutes of the last dose, was in heavy labor and gave birth less than 4 hours later. Nookie had been tried many, many times previously and caused contractions, but not like THOSE contractions.
I don't think the 2 oz every 2 hours protocol is a good one though... Take a little. See how your body tolerates it. If it tolerates it, try a slightly larger dose the next time. I did 2 oz every 2 hours for 3 doses with dd1 and it was miserable and did not affect things much--but the midwife telling me I could try it again in a few days worked wonders and she was born the next day. :)
Castor Oil 970My neighbour said to try with orange juice... I've heard and read everything from mixing it with milk to mixing with vodka...
FWIW, I never even got the runs until a couple hours after the birth, that's how low the dose I was working with was.
That said, I did have to get to 41 w 2 days before I was even willing to think about trying it. Took it at 41 w 3 days and she was born very early on 41.4
34wks NST and unplanned OB visitHi folks, I had my first NST today. Wasn't supposed to have to see the OB (not until next week, and then weekly), but... First, the NST shows...
