Some of them will NOT be ignored. They pretend they don't understand the separation of church & state. YET, when *I* confront them, I can show them by their own god, the bible, that it is clear that Jesus was as a-political as a man could be. They are a sick bunch, really. Some contemptible, some pathetic, and some misguided. They realize what I say is true, and they claim they adore Jesus and they claim that they want to be just like Him but they continue to be as unlike Him as any non-believer.
In fact, that reminds me of something. Have you ever watch the show Punked? I've watched it a dozen or so times. The ONLY time people became weird and physical was with actors who were filming a "Christian" story. They literally snatched the film from who they thought was studio executive (who would have had the right to confiscate the film until a fine was paid) they thought was going to be taken from them because the whole joke was that they were filming without some permit. They were basically STEALING the film and running from the cameras, diving into a truck to take off when they were told they were being punked. NO other group reacted like that. Telling.
Fundamentalists are, if not the worst, one of the biggest hypocrites on the face of the earth. Their level of pretense of goodness is so incredible. ALL you have to do to see what I'm talking about is go to a so-called Christian newsgroup and watch the interaction. There's very little difference. You'll see less "bad words!" Oh, wow as if "bad words" will the basis by which God will judge one worthy of heaven or hell! lol I purposely say poo, jackbutt and other mild "bad words." You OUGHT to see the reaction.
Oh, I'm going to stop because I CAN go on about the Fundies!
