Unless you "wipe" A wipe is when everybody in the instance dies. If you don't have soemone who can ressurect, everyone needs to do a corpse run. Some instances have lots of mobs repoping after a wipe, others not (I never figured out the why ; maybe it's juste the length of time spent in the instance?)
If you do have someone who can self rez then rez everyone lese, so much teh better! (chaman; priest or paladin with a warlocks soulstone...)

In fact, when you go to an instance, ask first how long the others think it will take, and make sure you have this amount of time free. You will be expected to go all the way, or as far as agreed in the beginning (a Strat Baron run isn't the whole instance, but you will be expected to go as far as the Baron)
Dropping out half way through an instance withour first having agreed on your leaving early is about 2nd on the list of things that will get you blacklisted, right after ninja looting.
