As a hunter in AV I only need to see the color of the lower bar on the target icon to react:
Blue: CASTER! mana-drain sting (nothing is more fun than a caster OOM, especially paladins)
Yellow: ROGUE! Scorpid sting followed by Hunter's Mark (and yes even when the next patch comes I'll still slap it on to make them use a Vanish cooldown to slip out of it)

Red: WARRIOR! Scorpid sting
Orange: PET! Ignore this target, unless it's chewing on some hapless friendly clothie nearby.
Druids are a special case, but I generally hit them with the appropriate sting for their current form's second bar. Beyond this "first shot" reaction, everyone gets pretty much the same treatment.
Beyond that there's not a whole lot I need to know, but of course for other clbuttes this may be insufficient. My hunter is the first character I've had any PvP success with, though, and is pretty much my only char that engages in PvP (my warlock isn't spec'd right for PvP and my warrior just gets eaten alive).
